Growing up the medium in which I saw photos most in was black and white. After the advent of digital photography color photos were more distinct everywhere and also newspapers started to use less and less b&w photos in their reporting. My love for the medium never left me and it has never left other photographers either. Look in on 500px, flickr etc. and b&w pics abound. I guess it draws out the artist in some people, more so than the color picture does in them?
A couple of portraits of different people in black and white. All these pictures were taken as quick newspaper style snaps. Just one moment in time captured.
This gentleman was the epitome of happiness to me. He was pure happiness. I can’t look at this picture without starting to smile.
The other gentleman was living in a ramshackle house on a small pacific island. He looked contented with life and happy to talk to strangers for a while.
This old lady comes everyday to sit beside her house. She seems to know a lot and has seen enough life to not take too much pressure about the daily goings on of other people. Fast life? Not here thank you..
