As promised here is the second and final part of the Restaurantday photos.
The friendly restaurant manager.
Lot of people around in the Kallio district of Helsinki.
Finnish specialty, Karelian pastry or karjalanpiirakka. With eggbutter. Tasty!
Sushi to go?
Esplanade park in central Helsinki, packed with people enjoying the food festival.
Eagerly waiting for the next restaurantday. 🙂 One of these times I will be doing my own restaurant. But still the craving to be about and see what others are up-to has been too strong to resist.
Sun peeking through the clouds, imperious and beautiful. Reminding that there is always sunshine in the end.
So a long hiatus on the blog, and still more photos to come from the restaurant day. I was taken down by the flu and the blog was not henceforth updated. Sorry for that. Anyhow, feeling better, although still less than 100% for sure. But anyway, summer solstice was on saturday, and now we move slowly towards less light. Summer however really has taken a backstep and we have had constant sleet, rain and generally miserable weather.
This was captured a while back, a lonely cabin on a small island. Lovely I think. Solitary.
Another weekend of food and festivities. Another splendid Restaurantday.
Beginning in the beautiful old wood-house quarter of Vallila.
There was a local flea-market event at the same time, so one could get both food and clothes etc at the same time.
A lot of people around, eating, trading stuff and generally mingling about.
And the tortilla was excellent as well. Just spicy enough to suit a Finns taste.
A second set of photos to come..
