Summer has gone, autumn seems to change into winter terrificly fast. Life seems to travel at an ever faster pace. I guess I am living the time of life when there is just too much to do and so little time.
Work seems to be more and more hectic as well. Life going forward, but sometimes one would just like to stop and enjoy it too.
The darkest part of the year is over and now it is getting brighter everyday. With some gorgeous light in the day time. Photo taken in Ullanlinna district, Helsinki.
Today we are enjoying a nice mini blizzard so it looks like winter after being a month late, arrived with a vengeance.
Just a photo of a couple by the sea. Spring, love.
Sometimes the simplest things are the best. Take for instance food. It does not need to be always mega-hyper complicated to taste great.
This was just a moments thought and a few minutes of preparation. Fresh asparagus, mashed potatoes with a spot of cream and butter 🙂 and fresh veggies on the side. Cottage cheese to give some protein. A bit of work to get the potatoes peeled and a boiled, all in all from preparation to the plate in under 25 minutes. The taste, well excellent is the word I would use!
Ah, the Finnish forests in winter. When there is snow, there is also light, and beauty to my eyes.
One of the more beautiful, yet very shy small bird species. A male and female, photographed about 100m apart, both alone.
The male was less cautious so I could get a little bit closer than the next photo.
As you can see, not a very large bird, sitting on a straw like that. For enhanced difficulty between me and the bird a lot of marshland that coul potentially have vipers in it. Not something I wanted to step upon in normal walking shoes.
As promised here is the second and final part of the Restaurantday photos.
Raw food. Chocolate balls 😉
The friendly restaurant manager.
Lot of people around in the Kallio district of Helsinki.
Finnish specialty, Karelian pastry or karjalanpiirakka. With eggbutter. Tasty!
Sushi to go?
Esplanade park in central Helsinki, packed with people enjoying the food festival.
Eagerly waiting for the next restaurantday. 🙂 One of these times I will be doing my own restaurant. But still the craving to be about and see what others are up-to has been too strong to resist.
