December, and another very busy year drawing to a close. On Christmas a wonderful meeting with a Least Weasel (Lumikko for you Finns) and some quality time with family. Next year I hope to do more photography and spend more time with family and friends.
A reunion of swan couple. Whooper swans pair for life, and seem to have a very strong bond between the couple. These two were singing and saying hello to each other in a very beautiful and moving way.
Summer has gone, autumn seems to change into winter terrificly fast. Life seems to travel at an ever faster pace. I guess I am living the time of life when there is just too much to do and so little time.
Work seems to be more and more hectic as well. Life going forward, but sometimes one would just like to stop and enjoy it too.
Summer is fading, making way for autumn. Going to be photographing more birds most likely in the coming weeks as migration season properly starts.
This bird shot was done with a 85mm lens, mostly used in portraits, not bird shots.
A Barnacle goose sits patiently, not interested in the dark cloud looming over the city of Helsinki.
Winter. Oh how you are such a wonderful minimiser of things to the bare essentials.
Winter has first arrived and now it seems gone again. Nature is poised between winter proper and autumn.
Last week we had the first snow here in Helsinki and now as I write it, it has melted away as the weather took a sudden turn for the warmer.
I have been totally immersed in my work life, as I have, once again taken a leap to another work place. Seems the time between workday and the next is way too short currently, but I have a lot of faith that the situation will get better as I get more and more into the job and learn the new people and the new things I have to be responsible for. Still a huge change. Photography has been taking a second fiddle and the writing of the blog has been totally out of my mind for the time being.
I am thinking of how to breathe more fresh air into this, probably something like a photo a day again would be good.
Took this photo with my trusty Nikon as a old lady was out for the last row of the season before winter arrived with snow, ice and coldness. A beautiful moment for sure!
How are all you doing?
Long summer nights are here, and what a joy it is. This photo was taken at almost midnight.
The darkest part of the year is over and now it is getting brighter everyday. With some gorgeous light in the day time. Photo taken in Ullanlinna district, Helsinki.
Today we are enjoying a nice mini blizzard so it looks like winter after being a month late, arrived with a vengeance.
Late November and early December has been rather damp and wet, but there have been bright moments when the sun has shown up. And when it does, oh boy!
Here a small valley in fog with the sun from the south-west shining its beautiful light.
