Olde Oaks

Oak in snowfall by Jere Ketola on 500px.com

Old and gnarly, standing tall after over 300 years on this earth. The snow falling softly with the sun rising over the trees.

Landscape photography usually requires good scouting and good timing due to the nature of finding good light. Sometimes luck favors as well and the conditions are beautiful. Like on this instance, where for the photographer the weather was rather miserable, but I believe the end result is rather beautiful.

Amids the pandemic it was refreshing to be outdoors in a peaceful quiet spot and enjoying the beauty of Finnish nature.

Traveling induced Hiatus in posting…

IT is holiday season in Finland. Therefore I have been away, visiting some lovely places. I will probably writr a couple of different posts on this when I have had the time to transfer my photos to the computer which I left home so as to really enjoy holiday.

As usual to fully enjoy vacation it is essential to get out of the normal routines and into different mindscape and hopefully into a different location as well.

As luck would have it I live in the capital of our fair country with excellent connections to the world. No need to drive for hours on end to get to the airport. This also means that almost all European capitals are just a quick hop away. With the advent of Norwegian and Ryanair et al its also relatively cheap to fly nowadays. I still tend to favor Lufthansa and Finnair when possible but usually the destination plays a part in the chosen form of transportation as well.

Want to take a guess where all of the photos in this post were taken?

More tk..

Summer seems to get the best out of us Finns. Love is in the air so to speak.

Love, summer, love

Lovely flower placement creating a heart in Kruununhaka, Helsinki

And a heart engraved into an old cannon from the sea-fortress of Suomenlinna (Sveaborg), one of the city’s prime tourist attractions.

Somehow even beautiful flowers remind me of love in the summer!

Happy New Year!

So another year has passed. A year of laughter, love, hurt and traveling with a lot of work thrown in the mix as well. Great experiences. I believe I have personally grown as a human and I think that is greatly due to the people in my life.

And now a new year to do so much more and hopefully see even more.

Lets look forward and be positive! Be dynamic and live life to the fullest, for life is a precious thing.

Light at the end of the path

Photography is a matter of perspective. We all see the world differently. Walking with another photographer shows this very nicely. At the end of the day, both have captured different things and views, yet have moved from a to b the same path.

This small alley caught my eye and especially the light which was pouring through.
